Fall Family Weekend 2016 kicks off with the 26th Annual Proctor Invitational Golf Tournament at Lake Sunapee Country Club Thursday morning! On Friday, parents are invited to attend two classes followed by all-school assembly at 10:00, athletic practices, a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Dining Commons , lunch, and Parent/Teacher conferences before a few Friday afternoon games. Saturday morning Parent/Teacher conferences and athletic contests round out the weekend.
Our weekly communications through our Parent Page newsletter, blog posts, videos, and social media content provides a window into life at Proctor, but there is no substitution for parents spending time on campus with their child. Attending classes, taking part in assembly, and observing athletics and afternoon activities all give invaluable perspectives to parents on how their child is engaging with their teachers, advisors, coaches, and peers.
Perhaps the most productive time spent during Fall Family Weekend occurs during parent/teacher conferences. Students are encouraged to attend conferences alongside their parents in order to promote open, honest conversations about academic effort, growth, and performance. Our role is to help, with the support of parents, move students along a growth continuum in all areas of student life at Proctor. This process requires a team effort, and this weekend serves as the perfect check-point to make sure parents, students, and teachers are aligned in working toward our collective goals for each student.
The forecast for the weekend calls for quintessential October in New Hampshire weather. Safe travels to all of our parents!
