Each year the Proctor community changes as seniors graduate, some faculty move on, and others retire. As we gear up for students to arrive over the next week, we wanted to introduce you to some of the new faces students and parents will be seeing this year and to evolving roles for those faculty you know so well!
Role of the Faculty Advisor at Proctor
Jul 9, 2015 8:00:00 AMWe talk often about the importance of relationships in education. It is perhaps the most difficult quality of a school to articulate through a website or blog. A school’s culture is something so wholly unique, students must be immersed in it to truly appreciate it. At Proctor Academy, we believe the boarding school relationships formed between faculty advisors and students are central to sustaining the school culture that makes Proctor so special.
Well Wishes in Retirement to a Friend, Artist, and Mentor: Patrice Martin
Jun 4, 2015 12:00:00 PMAt this year's graduation, guest speaker Luke Wood shared his thoughts on lessons he's learned over the course of his successful music career. His first point was that magic exists; there are moments when creative genius is unlocked and the result is nothing short of pure magic. These moments exist in the studio, on the athletic field, in the classroom, or simply in conversation.
We have long known there is something called "Proctor magic". We can't define it. We can't even really describe it. But if you've spent considerable time on Proctor's campus, you know it well. There is something about this school that unlocks the best in students in a way no other place seems to be able to do. More accurately, though, the magic doesn't lie within this place, but within the people who make up this community. One of the most 'magical' members of this community is Patrice Martin.

Community: Open Conversations
Dec 6, 2014 9:30:00 AMRamping Up at Proctor!
Aug 28, 2014 8:38:00 AMAs Head of School, Mike Henriques, noted in his welcome to faculty and staff Monday morning, Proctor’s campus never truly shuts down. It slows down as students depart for the summer months, but between Gordon Research Conferences and on-going projects on campus, things never stop!
