Girls' basketball coach Liz McNamara's family dairy farm, McNamara Dairy, helped organize a fundraising event to benefit The Upper Valley Haven in White River Junction. The girls' basketball team jumped right in to help out, making a world of difference in hundreds of families' lives this holiday season.

Community: Understanding Nametags

Friday evening, the Proctor community had the opportunity to watch Chris Waddell’s documentary, “1 Revolution” during which he becomes the first paraplegic to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro almost entirely under his own power. As part of Proctor’s speaker series, Waddell’s documentary (trailer embedded below) was followed Saturday morning by a presentation called “Nametags”.

Bravery Defined: Special Olympics

Saturday was a special day on Proctor’s campus. We welcomed hundreds of volunteers, runners, riders and spectators as we hosted the Rail Trail Run and Ride fundraiser for the Special Olympics of New Hampshire. The entire student body and many faculty and staff participated; some helped set up the event, others raced in the 5k and 10k runs alongside Special Olympic athletes. Others cleaned up, organized child races around Carr Field, and cheered on runners and riders.

Central to Proctor's educational mission are our core values: respect, responsibility, honesty and compassion. Whether in the classroom, the dorm or the athletic field, teachable moments to reinforce these values exist.  We are very proud that Proctor graduates are collaborative, ethical individuals, ready to contribute productively to their communities and Proctor's CORE Program reinforces these ideals.
