We all know the Harry Potter series, and most are familiar with the beginning of the school year at Hogwarts when new students find themselves placed in houses like Gryffindor or Slytherin with all the attending alliances and associations, reputations and personalities. The “Sorting Hat” places the new students at Hogwarts. The choosing is not their own. And in some way a similar process has played out across Proctor this week as afternoon team activities ramp up and coaches work towards roster decisions. And now, at the end of the week, cuts have been made, and teams have started to coalesce. Roles have been determined. It's not quite the Sorting Hat, but it can feel that way.

While official varsity tryouts will not take place until after Wilderness Orientation returns allowing all new students an opportunity to try-out, these five days of training are crucial to building a foundation on which Proctor’s athletic program will operate during the upcoming season.
Proctor Athletics: Walsh '17 81st Pick in NHL Draft
Jun 25, 2017 6:14:00 AMProctor Academy's Reilly Walsh '17 (Andover, NH) was drafted Saturday by the New Jersey Devils with the 81st pick in the 3rd round of the 2017 NHL Draft. Walsh will attend Harvard University in the fall, and played for the Chicago Steel (USHL) this past fall and spring book ending a tremendous season for the Hornets in which he became the first defensemen in more than 30 years to lead all of prep hockey in scoring with 69 points (30 goals).

The Class of 2017 is no exception as 27 members of the class (of 109 students) are pursuing careers at the collegiate level, including a remarkable seven NCAA Division 1 athletes! Proctor Athletics: Varsity Baseball Caps Perfect Season with Championship
May 20, 2017 10:55:27 PMHeading into the 2017 baseball season, Head Coach Mark Tremblay knew he had a solid core of seniors who would put up a fight, but no one could have imagined the journey they would take the Proctor community on over the next two months. Battling early season snow, mid-season rain, and late season black flies, Proctor's Varsity Baseball team ran the table this spring with 15 straight wins on its way to the program's first regular season Lakes Region title in more than twenty years, and first Lakes Region tournament championship on Saturday afternoon.
Proctor Athletics: Spring 2017 Award Winners
May 19, 2017 10:30:00 AMProctor Academy's spring athletic season has come to an end after unprecedented rain wrought havoc on game schedules all term. Despite early season snow and mid/late season rains, the Hornets buzzed to historic finishes in a number of different sports as varsity baseball, varsity boys' tennis, and varsity golf all entered their respective Lakes Region Tournaments on Wednesday with undefeated records. Varsity softball and boys' varsity lacrosse also had great seasons, posting an 8-3 record and 13-4 record, respectively.
