As the temperatures start to moderate and we see glimpses of snow banks melting around campus, it can mean only one thing: NEPSAC playoffs are just around the corner! For Proctor’s girls varsity basketball team, an injection of young talent and veteran leadership has the group poised to make a playoff run under the guidance of Head Coach Gregor Makechnie ‘90 and Assistant Coach Lindsay Brown ‘01. With over half of our school (more than 190 students) on snow each winter, Proctor’s love for snow sports remains as deep as it has for almost a century.

Playing in the highly competitive NEPSAC AA league, Proctor’s boys varsity basketball team under the guidance of second-year head coach Ben Bartoldus ‘10 continues to learn about themselves and develop their identity as a team. It is in this constant state of being challenged by the best teams in the country that Bartoldus’ squad has grown by leaps and bounds over the past season. Proctor Alumni: Caroline Heatley '91 and Gary Wright '72 Honored

The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) 2022 Awards have been announced, and Proctor is thrilled to share that two Proctor alums—Caroline Heatley '91 (The Joe Burke Award) and Gary Wright '72 (The John "Snooks" Kelley Founders Award)—are recipients. Caroline and Gary will be recognized at the AHCA Convention this April. Please help us congratulate these two lifelong Hornets!

Proctor Athletics: Girls Varsity Hockey Spotlight

Proctor's girls varsity hockey team is off to a 3-4 start on the young season, most recently securing an overtime win versus North Yarmouth Academy just before Winter Break. Under the guidance of Head Coach Hunter Churchill '01 and first year Assistant Coach Kate Piacenza, the Hornets are finding their identity as a team after graduating nine seniors off of last year's squad. Team Spotlight: Boys Varsity Hockey 2021-2022

Proctor’s boys varsity hockey team is just three games into their thirty game schedule, losing two early season tilts due to COVID-19 protocols with other teams. Two of those three games ended on last second game winners against tough Lakes Region opponents. For this group of young, determined, hard-working athletes, the journey that lies ahead is one filled with unrealized potential. Four games at the Lawrence/Groton Holiday Tournament await the team this weekend, but before they hit the ice, we caught up with Maks Watton ‘23, Jack Robinson '22, and goaltender Donald McCarthy ‘22 for this week’s Team Spotlight.
